Perth

Perth is situated on Australia's western coast between the blues of the Indian Ocean and the historic Darling Ranges and sits elegantly on the banks of the Swan River.

As the capital of the state of Western Australia, Perth’s domain is huge – the Perth metropolitan area accounts for nearly 90% of the state population. The most isolated capital city on Earth, Perth lies upon a similar latitude to Sydney but over 3400km (2110 miles) to the west – as far away as London is from Beirut.

Perth has a vibrant nightlife, especially at the weekends. Just outside the city centre is the Perth district of Northbridge where you will find a large range of nightclubs, pubs, cafes and restaurants, offering an varied mix of cultures and cuisines. Alternatively, south of Perth is Fremantle, regarded as the best-preserved 19th-century port in the world, which has a great mix of nightclubs and bars.

The summer temperature averages 29 °C during the day and 17 at night. The average winter temperature is 18 °C during the day, dropping to 9°C at night.
